The inspiration behind The Hive 116 came from our children, Meredith & Jackson who we found in college to be spending more time in coffee shops studying than the library. Coffee Shops host folks from all walks of life, with all kinds of different experiences from which we can all learn. We looked around our community in downtown Albemarle, NC. and felt that there needed to be a similar space. Rather than complain about what was not there, we decided to build it. Conscious about Covid, we have gone the extra step and installed high efficiency filtration and sanitation systems to keep the air and surfaces clean.
